Seahawks out-Eagle the Eagles, defeat fellow birds on the road, recapped on Twitter
This game was supposed to be exciting. A nail biter. It’s actually quite possible that this game was less close than the score would indicate. The Seahawks still probably haven’t played a perfect game this season, or even as perfect as one can expect from imperfect people. Instead, the Seahawks did to the Eagles what the Eagles have become successful at — they ran a ton of plays on offense, forced turnovers, and kept the opponent’s defense tired.
lose coin toss, defer. Seattle will receive the opening kickoff.

Glad NFL rules say we get commercials over the last 30 seconds of Indy/Cleveland game.

— Nick Eaton (@njeaton)

Jon Ryan bobbles a snap, fumbles, Eagles recover on their own 14 yard line.
Man… that's the second straight week Jon Ryan has dropped a punt snap. That's unusual.

Can we not talk about the amazing special teams of the Eagles? That was all on Seattle, kids. ALL.
— Aaron Schatz (@FO_ASchatz)

Three runs sets up fourth and one and Eagles going for it.
— Bob Condotta (@bcondotta)
McCoy appears to have it.
— Bob Condotta (@bcondotta)
After a stuff of LeSean McCoy the Seahawks allow a touchdown on a pass to Jeremy Maclin. Eagles lead 7-0.
The Eagles sent Maclin in motion, and no one from the Seahawks' defense followed him across the field. Created a 1-on-2 mismatch.
— Jayson Jenks (@JaysonJenks)
That was easy, easy, easy on that TD. Two on one on perimeter. That's butter for Chip Kelly system.
— Curtis Crabtree (@Curtis_Crabtree)
Eagles haven't done anything impressive so far, apart from hypnotizing Jon Ryan before that punt.
— Casey McLain (@TheCaseyMcLain)
James Carpenter goes down after DeMarcus Dobbs gets hurt on the kick return.

Eagles called for defensive holding on third down and Seahawks a first down at the 25.
— Bob Condotta (@bcondotta)
Was Wilson not way past the line of scrimmage when he threw that on third down?
— Jayson Jenks (@JaysonJenks)
Looked that way to me. I thought the flag was for an illegal forward pass. I believe the term "dumbf**k" left my mouth.
— Seattle Sportsnet (@alexSSN)
— Casey McLain (@TheCaseyMcLain)

Philly Special Teams makes me nervous
— DAVIS HSU (@DavisHsuSeattle)
Russell.
Russell Wilson is the sixth modern QB to rush for at least 700 yards in a season.
— Miracle On ARth St. (@KennethArthuRS)
Right now, Russell Wilson is the 15th leading rusher in the NFL, 14th in rushing TDs, and leads all qualified runners w/ 7.6 yards per carry
— Jacs Frost (@JacsonBevens)
which includes kneel down. Insane numbers for Wilson
— Connor (@migsY2K)
Seahawks three and out. Poor punt by Jon Ryan, who is uncharacteristically struggling today.
Clean catch but poor punt for Jon Ryan — 32 yards
— Larry Stone (@StoneLarry)
Followed by an Eagles three and out. What was expected to be an exciting game is relatively uneventful.
Chris Maragos is all over the place for the Eagles’ special teams right now.
— Stephen Cohen (@scohenPI)
Obvious statement but hell of a start by defense.
— Ian Furness (@IanKJR)

Doug Baldwin with a first down catch.
Seahawks convert third an 13 on 20-yard pass to Baldwin to midfield.
— Bob Condotta (@bcondotta)
Wilson throwing the ball away a lot in the first half.
If I could start The Sideline as a receiver, I would dominate my fantasy league.
— Michael Tanier (@MikeTanier)
Wilson buys his own time, finds Paul Richardson for a first down. Seahawks in field goal range again.
Seattle has picked up two third and 15s and a third and 13.
— Bob Condotta (@bcondotta)
Nearing the end of the half, Doug Baldwin with a big catch to bring the Seahawks closer to a field goal. Play to be reviewed regarding Baldwin having control. Confirmed. Steven Hauschka good from 44 yards. Seahawks lead going into have 10-7.

— Jacs Frost (@JacsonBevens)
Am I glad Seattle had the ball for 22 minutes- sure- but against Chip- TOP means less than against most
— DAVIS HSU (@DavisHsuSeattle)
Chip Kelly's ballclub only needs seven more total yards to equal the number of receiving yards Doug Baldwin has today.
— Seattle Sportsnet (@alexSSN)
Regional vocabulary is weird. In the South they call all kinds of soda "Coke". In Seattle they call commercials "Russell Wilson Time."
— Patrick Dubuque (@euqubud)
3rd Quarter
2nd half kickoff goes out of the endzone and Eagles will start at their 20.

Pass across the field to Marshawn Lynch, who strolls into the endzone for a touchdown. Seahawks lead 17-7.
That's our weirdo!
— Seattle Sportsnet (@alexSSN)
Mike Holmgren: I don't understand why they aren't throwing the ball more on 1st down.
— mitch levy (@kjrmitch)
On the ensuing kickoff, what looks like a fumble is recovered by the Seahawks. Refs call it down, Seahawks challenge. Call stands, remains Eagles ball.
I think Hauschka went for the strip there.
— Casey McLain (@TheCaseyMcLain)
Josh Huff looked sweet there- I liked him in the Draft more than Norwood and so did Philly apparently
— DAVIS HSU (@DavisHsuSeattle)
Defensive pass interference called on Bobby Wagner.
I agree with that dpi…call it both ways though
— Happy HoliDaves (@dhodgs)

That wheel route up the sideline is the one play that has consistently beaten the Seahawks defense this year.
— Jacs Frost (@JacsonBevens)
After a Paul Richardson return to the nine yard line, Russell Wilson with a 12 yard run.
Paul, you need to learn to just take a knee for the touchback. You're hurting the team with some of these run-outs.
— Sonics Faithful (@Jome20)
Wilson! He keeps it, nobody realizes it, and he picks up 12.
— Nick Eaton (@njeaton)

Sproles muffs the punt reception, but he jumps on it. will start from own 33.
— Nick Eaton (@njeaton)
After a great open field tackle, then great coverage on a third down play by Byron Maxwell, Philadelpia’s drive stalls. Then Jason Peters gets a personal foul saying something to a referee, pushing the Eagles back 15 yards before the punt. Doug Baldwin absolutely drilled right as he caught the punt. Also, Seahawks called for holding on the return.
Seahawks returners gotta learn how to call for a fair catch and take a knee.
— Stephen Cohen (@scohenPI)
Holding on Tharold Simon, who takes off helmet and yells in protest. Sherman races over to push Simon back to sideline.
— Bob Condotta (@bcondotta)

Underthrew that one by about ten yards
— Danny Kelly (@FieldGulls)
For real- a pick is OK right there- same with that deep shot to Kearse on 3rd- those are actually "good" picks if you tackle the defender.
— DAVIS HSU (@DavisHsuSeattle)
4th Quarter
Seahawks would have been better off if Fletcher had picked that one off.
— Patrick Dubuque (@euqubud)

Marshawn Lynch fumbles. Eagles recover.
Lynch fumbles after a short pass and the Eagles recover at their own 31. 9:07 left to play. Maybe last shot for Eagles to make it a game.
— Bob Condotta (@bcondotta)
At least three FG attempts thwarted by Seahawks own stupidity today.
— Casey McLain (@TheCaseyMcLain)
Tharold Simon with an interception on the first play after the fumble. Play reviewed, likely to see if Cooper contacted Simon. K.J. Wright also was the one to tackle Simon.
That was a dreadful throw.
— Stephen Cohen (@scohenPI)
Tharold Simon w/ his first career pick, then he gets tackled by KJ Wright. That seemed inevitable (Sanchez throwing a pick, not the tackle).
— John Boyle (@johnpboyle)
The only thing they need to review here is whether or not KJ Wright targeted his own damn teammate with that beastly hit.
— Seattle Sportsnet (@alexSSN)
That ball is coming back 11 yards to where Simon intercepted that, ruling that he was touched while on the ground. start at SEA 30
